PILLARS

The SYNAPSE platform aims to protect Essential and Important Entities, considered in the NIS2 Directive, from the increasing cyber threats. To this end, SYNAPSE relies on three pillars, Situational Awareness, Incident Response, and Preparedness Capabilities.

Situational Awareness

The SYNAPSE platform will go beyond the state-of-the-art, providing AI-enhanced Situational Awareness. This way, SYNAPSE will leverage several machine learning techniques to analyze and comprehend data gathered from the elements in the environment. The information collected will be complemented with data from Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) sources. Furthermore, this pillar will also entail attack early warning and threat hunting, using also artificial intelligence.

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Risk assessment
  • Early attack detection
  • Response recommendation

Incident
response

Incident Response will also be provided by SYNAPSE through process automation and orchestration mechanisms. The platform will bring together several tools and processes to develop workflows in order to automate the execution of tasks through machine-driven processes and cutting-edge technologies. These automated individual tasks will then be orchestrated and coordinated, also by SYNAPSE, to achieve a coherent and precise response to cyber incidents.

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Incident management

Preparedness Capabilities

SYNAPSE will also encompass out of the box Preparedness Capabilities. The cybersecurity, privacy and business continuity training provided by this platform will tailor the delivery method, and it will cover several training delivery means. This SYNAPSE pillar aims to rise cybersecurity awareness and improve through training the capabilities of an essential asset in the cyber scenario, and in many cases neglected, the human.
